Yum! Our new favorite!
This is a big batch!
2 C water
1 C milk or almond milk
2 C Oats (gluten free optional)
2 Apples (I used two different kinds)
1 C Unsweetened Applesauce
2 Tbl Chia Seeds (this makes it nice and thick,
but you can do ground flaxseed as well)
1 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
3 Tb Maple Syrup
1 Tbl Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Nutmeg (this is optional - it sometimes overpowers)
1 tsp Vanilla
Put all ingredients in large pot. Stir and simmer over med-low heat until it thickens (8-10 minutes).
Serve with milk, optional raisins, or Chopped pecans!! YUM!
